NASHVILLE, Tennessee – Rooms at the Gallatin Hotel will offer more than just travelers a place to sleep at night.
Anchor Rentals owns the hotel which will open in May at 2518 Gallatin Avenue. The company gives more than 50% of its hotel profits to nonprofits that work with homeless people in Nashville.
âWe donate the majority of the profits from our hotel business to various government departments around Nashville that primarily serve homeless communities and some of the other underserved communities,â said Micah Lacher, the promoter and president of the company.
A weekend at the 25-room hotel will provide 16 beds, 30 meals and 100 showers for homeless people.
âI’m very interested on a personal level in trying to help these people take a hand and restart their lives in some way,â Lacher said.
The Russell and 506 Lofts, two other properties managed by Anchor Rentals, also contribute.
âWe have a business side to our business, which pays for our team and supports my family, and that’s just to impact our community and make it a better place,â Lacher said.
Donating funds to Room In The Inn, The Rescue Mission, ShowerUp and People Loving Nashville is one way the Gallatin Hotel will stand out, according to the developer.
“If it’s up to us and another hotel, we hope social-minded travelers will choose us over them, as most hotels in town go to investors and owners and they don’t go out. in the community, âhe said.
Renovations to the hotel building that once belonged to East Nashville Church of Christ are nearing completion. This boutique hotel will also include an event space and a dining room.
