When it comes to multi-million dollar hypercars, there isn’t much more exclusive than Bugatti’s limited-edition Divo.
Only 40 of these high-performance coupes were built at the Bugatti factory in Molsheim, making them rare even by the French marque’s standards, each selling for around the $ 8 million mark.
Unfortunately for a Divo owner in France, parking lessons weren’t included in this gargantuan price, and they were caught hitting a Mercedes CLS in front of a hotel.
As the driver of the Bugatti tries to get out of the roadside space, he likely ignored the parking sensor warnings and backed up too far.
After the initial impact, hotel workers move around to check for damage in the rear, as well as to help the driver get out of the area properly. It should also be noted that there was an attendant up front to make sure the Porsche 918 Spyder was not hit either.
Despite the low speed nature of the prang, we can’t imagine that too much damage was done to either of the cars involved, but we would hate to think about the costs involved.
Considering the majority of the Divo is carbon fiber and the rear is made up of a prominent diffuser above a titanium exhaust system, even the slightest bump would be catastrophic.
We can all be thankful that the Mercedes driver wasn’t wrong here as it would be a rather interesting discussion with the insurance company.
